Bubbling Over With Goodness

Surprise, surprise Jazo has stumbled upon another drink in the supermarket aisle. I cannot be trusted in the cold drinks’ aisle. 😉

I grabbed a Sparkling Orange with turmeric and ginger. I have tried some of the Juice Lab wellness shots, in the past. I didn’t know, they had a sparkling drinks range.

I am a big fan of turmeric and ginger, especially on those cold winter days. Then again, I love ginger in food and drinks. Sue me :P

This Sparkling Orange with turmeric and ginger is a 250mL can product. I purchased this product for $3.50 from my local supermarket.

I was curious to try out a citrus flavour mixed with turmeric and ginger. I can taste the natural sugars from the orange juice. This plant-based product would have to be one of the most interesting ingredients I have ever tried! It’s a good thing! The first few sips you can taste the zesty, blood orange taste. You are instantly greeted with a bit of peppery spice coming from the turmeric. You are then met with a final greeting of fresh ginger and a hint of turmeric towards the end. The turmeric taste doesn’t have a bitter flavour. It has the right combined flavour balance with the ginger. I would never imagine trying these combined flavours of turmeric and ginger together in a sparking beverage. It works!

Flavour-wise, it works perfectly well to my liking and to my tastebuds. The turmeric flavour doesn’t have that earthy and bitter, almost musty taste. The Juice Lab has achieved the right amount with a bit of peppery spice from the turmeric. The ginger flavour doesn’t have that pungent and bitter taste. It does have a slightly peppery and subtle fresh ginger mellow taste. Overall, the flavours balance well with the citrus taste.

I was happy with the sparkling orange because it didn’t affect my acid reflux. I tend to avoid any zesty, and citrus drinks, and fruits as it does play up with my acid reflux. This is an added bonus because as a consumer I enjoy these combined flavours together!

Overall, I rate this product a 5/5. I love the sleek, stylish can packaging. It is very convenient to pack this can on the go. I enjoyed the flavours, and this would be something I’d have after my weekly runs.
