More Than Just Sparkling Water

Tea

Hello Lovelies, :)

I hope your all having a lovely week.

Before I begin, I want to make acknowledgement of country. I want to acknowledge the First Nations People as the traditional custodians of this land. I am coming to you from Gadigal of the Eora Nation.

A new Asian supermarket has opened in my area. I purchased some items that I was after and some cold beverages to try. The cold beverages were two sparking waters. The first was a sparkling water white strawberry and coconut flavour, and the other was a sparkling water lychee fizzy flavour. The sparkling water are made out of cans. The cans are 330mL each (11.15 fl oz). The brand is called, Genki Forest . This was the first time I have come across this brand before. The cost of each can was $2. The price of each drink was cheap and affordable.

I fell in love with the packing design of the product; hence this is what gravitated me to the buy the product. I am a sucker for great packaging designs. The first thing that caught my eye was the Chinese calligraphy and the flow of its simple branding of the product.

The sparkling water white strawberry and coconut flavour has an instant hit of strawberry essence. The first few sips, I was able to taste the hint of white strawberry and the coconut flavour came in slightly afterwards. This was the first time tasting white strawberry and coconut flavours in sparkling water. This flavour did not contain any allergens.

I found the white strawberry dominated the flavour throughout every sip of the carbonated beverage. I was still able to taste the coconut flavour, but it wasn’t overly powerful. The coconut flavour didn’t have a cream and thick taste. It also didn’t have a watered - down taste. It had the right subtle taste to balance out with the white strawberry flavour. I like the light and subtle flavours together that made this drink pleasurable, and flavourable. I love the fact that it wasn’t sweet at all. I was expecting the white strawberry flavour to be overly sweet, but thankfully it wasn’t. If you don’t know by now, I am not a big, sweet eater and/or drinker. The white strawberry and coconut flavour contains no sugar. The flavours are artificial flavourings which isn’t that bad to have every now and then . The artificial coconut essence used in the sparkling water was the right balance for me to give this drink a 4/5.

I would definitely purchase this produce again. I wasn’t left disappointed and the next time I’m in that store I’m going to try out other Genki Forest products. After I finished this beverage, the essence from the white strawberry lingered afterwards.

The sparkling water lychee fizzy has the same actual sweet lychee - like taste. The added ‘fizz’ to this drink makes this carbonated beverage not idea to the already added sparkling taste. An important side note: the sparkling water lychee fizzy flavour aller gen contains tree nut (in the lichee) one of the ingredients used in this produce.

I am a big fan of lychee fruit, but the use of lychee artificial flavourings gave it the extra added sweetness. I love that lychee has a natural sweetness and goodness of Vitamin C. I should have expected that this was going to be extra sweet, because of the natural flavouring concentrated lychee juice. I love the lychee essence that lingered throughout every sipping experience. I would have preferred the extra sweetness of the sparkling water lychee flavour without the added ‘fizz’. I found the sparkling white strawberry and coconut flavour quite lighter, and less sweeter than the lychee fizzy flavour.

I wasn’t able to taste the sparkling water. Lychee fizzy flavour had a mixture of overpowered sweetness from the natural flavouring concentrated lychee juice, and tingling after punch of the fizz flavour.

The white strawberry and coconut flavour had the right balance of flavouring and sparkling water. The lychee fizzy flavour had a stronger flavour than actually being able to taste the sparkling water in the mix. The sweetness from the lychee fizzy flavour left me drinking more water afterwards. I would give this a 2.5/5. The lychee fizzy flavour tastes better when it is diluted with extra water to reduce the sugary taste.

Have you tried any of Genki Forest products? If so, what flavour should I try out next?
